Fogo Island Food Security Program

This winter, the Town applied for funding through the Reaching Home Rural and Remote NL Funding Program. This program helps people who are experiencing homelessness or who may be at risk of losing their housing. We’re pleased to share that our application was successful. The Town has received $52,500 to support the work of the Fogo Island Food Security Program and to help them provide more services to people in our community. More funding will be available soon to help individuals and families with basic needs. This may include: 1. Food and hygiene supplies 2. Help with housing and utility costs 3. Warm clothing and other winter essentials 4. Support and connections to other services, such as budgeting help If you’re having a hard time or need some extra support, please reach out.
