Fire Ban May 30th 2025

FIRE BAN IN EFFECT The Town of Fogo Island and Fogo Island Fire Services has issued a fire ban for all of Fogo Island effective immediately. Fire Ban in Effect - May 30, 2025 while fire index remains high. Effective immediately, a fire ban is in effect for Fogo Island, due to a high forest fire index. Open fires, Fireworks, Backyard fire pits Propane BBQ and propane fire pits are allowed. Forest vegetation is very dry and fires will start easily, burn vigorously, and challenge fire suppression efforts. (larger version)
