Community Workshop Oct 9th, 2025

The Town of Fogo Island has been engaged with a PhD student named Ajith Raj, who has been living on the island for the past 9 months conducting research for his PhD and working with the Town on Industry Diversification and Labour Market Development strategies. Ajith’s research is funded by Future Ocean Coastal Infrastructure Project (FOCI) at Grenfell Campus, with Dr. Paul Foley—a professor at MUN and a native of Tilting—serving as Ajith’s supervisor. As part of his research, he is organizing a community workshop where we will come together to share ideas and collectively imagine the future of Fogo Island and our relationship with the ocean. This workshop is a space for conversation, creativity, and visioning- your voices and stories are at the heart of it. All are welcome!
